The meeting was called to order at 7:04
p.m. by Chairman of the Board of Directors, Paul Bluemer, followed by the
Pledge of Allegiance. A moment of silence followed for all those active
service men and women, veterans and all others that died in service to our
country. There were 11 in attendance.
Secretary Barbara Giroux read the Minutes
of the December meeting. Nelson Dionne made a motion to accept as read,
seconded by Doris Rivard. Secretary Barbara Giroux noted that a change in
the Minutes should be noted from the December Meeting. We had Voted to send
letters to Acting Mayor Charlie Medeiros by 12/20, which was done, to apply
for grant monies for both Clean Lakes and The Playground. Per Charlie
Medeiros, there are grant monies available ONLY for Clean Lakes, not the
Playground, and the Parks and Recreation Department, City of Westfield, will
work with Emma to obtain funding for The Playground.
Treasurer Janet Sanuita reported that we
have a total of $13,116.74 cash on hand, income for the month of December
received was $1,080.00, and expenses totalled $1,859.60 for December. Janet
will E-Mail the Budget Report to us. Angela Belisle made a motion to accept
the Treasurer’s report, seconded by Nelson Dionne.
As reported in the December Minutes, Kerry
Sicard has volunteered to cook our future dinners, after the corned beef in
March…..Kerry wants to tour our kitchen facilities first, and Janet Sanuita
will get in touch with Joe Frankowski to let them into the building and will
report back on status at next meeting.
Nelson Dionne reported that he has calls
into Charlie Mederios to follow up on our 12/20/07 request for funds for
Clean Lakes, but has not reached him. Charlie is to work with our NEW MAYOR
to follow thru to obtain monies. Nelson reported that he will follow up
again, and have a report for our next meeting.
Pete Sanuita reported that the Fishing
Derby is Sunday, February 3rd, ICE PERMITTING! Pete reported
that Waste Management is contributing $500.00 to this Ice Fishing Derby
which is GREAT!
Our HPA Roast Pork dinner is Saturday,
February 2nd, and ticket prices were discussed. Barb Giroux made
a motion for adult tickets to be $10.00 and kids, 12 and under….$3.00,
seconded by Paul Bluemer. We will decide on ticket prices for the corned
beef dinner after speaking with Fran.
In Kim Goulette’s absence, Janet Sanuita
