March 1, 2007

Dear Member,

It is that time of year when we would like to thank you for your past support and ask you to continue your membership for 2007.

As we all know, the Hampton Ponds community is a wonderful place to live and raise our families.  As a non-profit organization, we have the privilege to serve our friends and neighbors while working with the business community and governmental agencies.  We are an all volunteer organization whose purpose is to provide quality public safety, protection and cleansing of the waters for all those who swim, fish or boat at Hampton Ponds.

Some of the issues that HPA has been involved with this past year are working to eliminate illegally parked cars potentially blocking emergency vehicles, elimination of trash and litter in and around the water and bringing in public sewer and water.  We have worked on environmental issues concerning Canada geese, beavers and erosion problems causing loss of land and vegetation.  Our most recent project is the eradication of the non-indigenous Eurasian milfoil which overwhelms the native plant species and chokes the lake.

HPA in collaboration with the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and the Living Classrooms Foundation was able to create an education pilot project serving disadvantaged and at-risk youth in the context of a 400-foot length pond shoreline restoration project.

It has been a busy year and we are very pleased with our progress.  Our members are instrumental in our continued success.  We ask you to again support our efforts by sending your membership check today.

Warmest Regards,

Suzy Tracy

President
