Dear Community Member,

It is that time of year when we would like to thank our members for their support.  At the same time, we would like to invite local residents to join the Hampton Ponds Association.

As we all know, the Hampton Ponds community is a wonderful place to live and raise our families.  As a non-profit organization, we have the privilege to serve our friends and neighbors while working with the business community, state and city government agencies.  We are an all-volunteer organization whose purpose includes providing a public forum for issues concerning our community and the protection of safe clean water for all who swim, fish, or boat at Hampton Ponds.  We also hold fund raising events in order to sponsor Westfield’s Fourth of July Parade, and award scholarships to eligible local high school seniors pursuing a secondary education.

This past year the HPA held tag sales and pancake breakfasts to fund an upgrade to our local playground; an ice fishing derby and a bass fishing derby for our clean lakes fund; dinners for the scholarships; and a walk-a-thon for general funds.

We have worked on environmental issues concerning Canada geese, beavers, and erosion of land and vegetation.  Our most recent continuing project is the eradication of the non-indigenous Eurasian milfoil which overwhelms the native plant species and chokes the lake.

It has been a very busy year and we are very pleased with our progress.  The members are instrumental in our continued success.  We ask you to support our efforts to improve our community by sending your membership dues check today.

Warmest Regards,

Rosalie Dupont

President
